The Lost and Finding of Fezzy Wezzy

Apart from the big news that Bahrain GP is cancelled and the F1 season will start on March 27th,
I had an interesting day waiting for the news about our cat.

Here are the text messages from my sister in the Philippines:

Received at 02-22-2011, 11:32 a.m. PH time:
"We have devastating news  nawala si fez kasi ipapaanti rabies siya tapos nagwala nabitawan pa ni dad yung chain tas tumakbo ng mabilis. Hinahanap pa rin ni ches at dad sa bundok."

Received the same day at 12:16 p.m. after I replied and asked some questions:
"Free kasi sa court taga health center ata ewan. Nakawala na siya bago pa umabot sa mga tutusok. Buong barangay hinahanap na siya. Nakachain kasi siya baka nasabitsabit."

At 2:46, I received this text message:
"Nasa bundok kami ngayon hinahanap namin si Fez."

And at 8:38 p.m., the following text was received:
"Fez is back! Umuwi siya mag-isa pero nawala yung bell niya at chain."

The full story of the finding of Fez is described below (from ate Jewnale's facebook wall)

  • Nakabalik na siya haha. Pagod at gutom na gutom. Nawala yung chain at bell niya feeling namin may kumuha sa kanya. Anyway, tuwang tuwa kami at nakabalik siya.
  • Paguwi niya nga nagulat kami eh nag meow tapos sabay sabay kaming nag Fez. Nagulat siya tumakbo sa ilalim ng table.

Hopefully our cat won't try to run away again because everybody loves him!

Love Your Enemies

It was the gospel reading yesterday. Three words. Very simple. Yet complex in a way.

Jesus asking us to love our enemies is quite hard especially when your foe has done something which is difficult to overturn. Wait, it isn't quite hard, it is very hard!

Imagine having to forgive a person who hurt you or your family, I know for sure it is unbearable to do. But then, Jesus asks us to do so in order to have peace in the community, and most importantly, to have peace in our hearts.

Forgiveness was also another point in the readings. A very simple word, yet again, also difficult to do.

I hope one of these days I will be able to forgive and reconcile with all my enemies.

With that, I hope and pray for strength to do so...

Daddy's Birthday

Today is my dad's birthday. He's 56 now, getting older and wiser.

Imperfect as he may be, my dad is exactly what we needed. Cool and calm. A really principled man.

He always believes in what is right, and stands up for it, even if he is the only one fighting.

My dad, see, is a politician. However he is very different from the usual politicians in our country. My dad never once saw opportunity to use his power for self gain. He was barangay captain for 10 years but he was never corrupt. He opposed to the high council if he needed to, but always said it in a way that no one will be stepped at.

A humble man, my dad, and I will always be proud of him. Given the opportunity, I know he wants to serve the people of our city for the best interest. Not for money nor power, but only to serve.

I miss my dad like the people I left in the Philippines. I miss my dad's jokes and his incredulously good logical skills. I hope he is having a happy birthday today.

Formula 1 is fast approaching

Less than a month to go, and my favorite sport, Formula 1, will kick off and start anew.
I can't wait to watch the pinnacle of motorsport show off the best cars made on earth.

I do hope Ferrari can match or better the Redbulls.

Forza Ferrari!
Forza Fernando!

p.s. I hope Robert Kubica will get well soon and get back on trach soon, I really liked him as a driver.
